About WikiDogCrate

WikiDogCrate is a lookup for dog crates and kennels: metal wire crates that fold flat, furniture crates that pass for an end table, soft-sided travel crates, plastic kennels for the car or a flight, and heavy-duty steel cages. Every entry repeats the words the seller put in the title and sits next to a price stamped with the time it was read.

The title is the source

Material, number of doors, length in inches, the dog size a seller names, wheels, a divider or a tray are filled in only when the title says so. A title that does not mention a divider leaves that cell empty, because many crates ship with one and never say it. Inches are copied as printed and never converted from centimeters. A claim such as escape-proof or chew-proof is the maker's own word, and no crate here was put to that test.

What is in and what is left out

The list is crates and kennels a dog lives or travels in. Yard kennels and runs with a roof, playpens and exercise pens, tents, gates, carriers that never say crate or kennel, and whelping boxes are left out, and so are pads, covers, trays, latches and other parts sold alone. A crate sold with a bed or a cushion as an extra stays in.

Nobody here has crated a dog

No crate was assembled, shut or slept in by anyone who works on this site, so nothing is ranked by sturdiness, noise or how fast a puppy outgrows it. Which size suits your dog is a question for the listing and the maker's own sizing chart.

Every price shows its minute

A price on a page was fetched from the store at the minute shown beside it. When that reading gets too old to trust, the figure is pulled rather than passed off as today's, and checkout charges whatever the store charges.

How the site earns

WikiDogCrate takes part in the Amazon Associates program. When a visitor follows one of our links and buys, the site earns a commission and the buyer pays the usual price. Lists follow the filters you set and the price, and a bigger commission never moves a crate up.

The buying guides compare stated sizes and prices only. In Learn we explain crate terms from animal welfare and veterinary pages, and the front page shows how many crates the site covers.
